LaGarde Law Firm wins arbitration for client in Chevron v. PetroQuest Energy L.L.C.

Mr. LaGarde successfully defended Louisiana-based PetroQuest Energy L.L.C. in an arbitration proceeding filed against it by Chevron U.S.A. Chevron sought royalty payments it claimed were owed to it under a contract between the parties. Chevron claimed past due payments of $1 million and future additional royalties of $30,000 per month. The arbitration was tried in Houston, Texas. The arbitrator rendered a decision in favor of PetroQuest Energy and ruled that Chevron was not entitled to the claimed additional royalties.
