• Legal claims related to natural gas price manipulation by gas transmission companies
  The LaGarde Law Firm is currently investigating legal claims for several independent gas producers related to Federal Energy Regulatory (FERC) allegations that natural gas pipeline companies in Texas may have artificially lowered the price of natural gas by flooding the market with gas during the monthly bid week. These allegations have also been made by the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

• Arbitration Trial -- Reliable Onshore Services Company v. Tanner Companies. Inc.
  Mr. & Mrs. LaGarde recently tried an arbitration in New Orleans on behalf of their client Reliable Onshore Services Company. The case involved the client's dissolution of an asset purchase agreement which was breached by Tanner Companies, Inc. The arbitration was tried before arbitrators George Freeman, Bruce Schewe, and Stephen Bullock. The panel issued an award cofirming Reliable Onshore's position that the asset purchase agreement had been dissolved. The panel also awarded damages to Reliable Onshore for lost profits while ordering a return to Tanner of the purchase price and the value of improvements.

Verdicts & Settlements

• $3.2 Million Judgment
  Mr. Lagarde won a $3.2 million judgment for his client, an injured Texas businessman and homeowner. The judgment was entered by a Harris County judge following a successful jury trial against Home Depot for the sale of a ladder which had previously been recalled.
